Remora Surf
We’re not your average surf brand. At Remora Surf, we build boards from ocean plastic, waste pulled straight from the sea and given a second life under your feet. Every board is a middle finger to pollution and a nod to the rebels who ride with purpose. We don’t just surf, we stand for something.

Artist/Thesis Statement
As an artist I am always inspired by many things in life. The biggest thing that made me who I am today is sports. Not basketball or soccer but extreme sports such as skiing, surfing and mountain biking. These sports push me to the absolute edge and make me see the world differently. That's why I wanted to focus on creating something for a sport that was also sustainable, as it is hard to find in the industry these days. So, I chose surfing. As it is the most artistic of all the sports I do. As a painter runs his brush across canvas, a surfer chooses their line on a wave and makes art. Remora is a company that uses recycled plastic to make surfboards. This benefits the ocean and also the surfers. I wanted to bring the grunge vibe I see in skating into the surf world. I also wanted to always have the topic of death on your mind when looking at the work. This really hits home and strikes my point that plastics are deadly.
