Killrail
Killrail is a project that aims to interest people in classic forms of entertainment by providing a murder mystery game night alongside a game night event where people can meet others with similar interests. Killrail hopes to get you to enjoy playing board games and encourages you to go and find other board games that you might enjoy or even to create your own.
Artist/Thesis Statement
In a world where dreams are connections to alternate realities, welcome aboard the Killrail to experience gaming in an engaging and exciting way. When was the last time you played a board game? These days, it is more common to play more video games than physical board games due to ease of access and connectivity with other players. With increased time spent playing video games, I want to bring back an interest in board games and unique ways to play together that does not require downloading anything.
Through the use of a narrative driven game alongside a themed game night, my project aims to encourage young adults and board game enthusiasts alike to get together for this experience in order to make new friends and connections with similar interests. My project intends to encourage interest in classic gaming and nostalgic entertainment. Inspired by whodunnit stories and games, old style illustration, and the 1920’s, this project displays motion, design, and artistic exploration through the medium of a board game.
