Through 2D animation, my project demonstrates how despite the best of intentions, there could be dire consequences. Not just for you, but for your loved ones as well. This is the story of Victor and his wife Yersinia, who love each other dearly. When a plague sweeps the nation, Victor attempts to develop a cure. His efforts double when Yersinia catches the illness. After all of Victor's attempts through science fail, he turns to ancient magic. He makes a deal with a mysterious mage who agrees to help at the cost of sacrificing four people of the mage's choosing. Only when Victor fulfills his end of the bargain does he realize that he had been tricked by the mage, who was the ancient god Zeroth in disguise. The mage did save Yersinia, but only her body. Her soul, along with Victor's, now belong to Zeroth. Having become husks, Yersinia and Victor, who now goes by Patchwork, try to fill the void left by their missing souls.
This project is meant to show not only consequences, but perseverance as well. It is important to never give up regardless of how hard the path ahead appears. If you can clear one hill, then you can clear the next. Everyone has had to struggle at some point, myself included. To me, there is no greater feeling than finally clearing a roadblock that had you stumped. That is why I find that those who can persevere in the face of any trial to be the strongest people. Even though Victor and Yersinia continue to struggle with their current circumstance, they still keep moving forward.
