Kit’s Hut is an introduction for crafting hobbies and a way to spend a happy, mindful time with yourself, rather than scrolling on your phone.
Artist/Thesis Statement
How do you spend your free time? Do you have a hobby? A lot of people will say scrolling on my phone, or I don’t have a specific activity to call a hobby. Or some people will need some time alone after a class or activity. This is how Kit’s hut was created: to introduce different crafting hobbies and a way to spend a happy, mindful time with yourself, so you spend less time on your phone.
The hut is a representation of your own space, your inner self, where you take time to take care of and fill with things you like. Kit the beaver built the cozy hut for us and for you to look around and find what you want to try! The sketchy illustration and analog-inspired visual language were the base when building Kit’s Hut.
With the five different crafting kits, you will be able to create something with your hands, and instructions in print and video will help if it’s your first time. The hobby tracker will be used after you finish a craft. Record how you felt, or what you thought during the craft, and decorate the bookcase with stickers!
