Artist/Thesis Statement
I am an artist because I am endlessly curious about the world. Art offers a space for experimentation and exploration, whether through new mediums, forms, or perspectives. I challenge myself to rethink how I see things, and I invite others to do the same. The act of creating helps me better understand myself and my place in the world.
My work captures individual experiences and encapsulates intimate moments. I often use everyday objects; you might find in a typical home that hold sentimental value for me. These familiar items carry specific, private meanings, and I’m interested in how their isolation on stark, white surfaces can transform them. When placed in a sterile, clinical space, these objects begin to feel like they’re under observation, inviting viewers to question their significance and examine them more closely.
This process turns the ordinary into something reflective. It creates a space where emotional memory and analytical distance coexist. At the heart of my work is the desire to explore selfhood. I aim to create pieces that ask viewers to pause, reflect, and see the familiar in a new light.
