Joy Ride
Joy Ride is a digital wellness dashboard app designed to help monitor, find, and sustain a balanced lifestyle between six areas of wellness and daily decision making.
Artist/Thesis Statement
Joy Ride is a project that meaningfully encapsulates my time here at UMass Lowell. I aimed to find a fun and digestible way to share the importance of wellness and how to balance what fuels oneself with what drains, something I learned the hard way as a student. It’s easy for our tanks to run low when we’re focused on getting to the end of the road, but now that I’m here I’m very reminiscent of my college wellness journey.
I would like to thank the UML Campus Recreation Center for being a place to refuel when my tank was empty. Its’ programs centered around fitness and wellness and the amazing staff that established them taught me the importance of nurturing those areas in myself while encouraging others to do the same. I was provided ample opportunities to grow skill, confidence, and strength in each area, especially physical! This place is the biggest reason I can happily say that despite any bumps in the road, I certainly enjoyed the ride.
