In the modern world, drink spiking is a well-known problem. Portrayed in movies, TV shows and miscellaneous other forms of media, yet rarely portrayed correctly. The stereotypical "drink spiking experience" is far from what many people experience. SOTERIA aims to educate and spread awareness about the subject while producing option to help anyone stay safe during a night out.
Despite being a very prevalent issue in the United States of America, most drink spiking statistics come from the UK. Making it clear that this topic is very under discussed among Americans, despite it being a clear issue.
If you or anyone you know have been a victim of having your drink spiked, it is important to know that you are not at fault and that help is always available to you, be it on your college campus or via local hospitals or the police.
