SOLARPUNX
A failed experiment resides in a city encased in a dome, barred from being the hero he was designed to be, but rather a scientist that works in the shadows. Outside of the city is an impoverished, lonesome young boy that goes to places he shouldn’t be. A mysterious robot breaks out and is on the loose, and these two people get caught in the mix. Over time, our protagonist starts to question why things are and finds out things he isn’t supposed to know.
Artist/Thesis Statement
I’m Yazmiin, a graphic designer and visual artist with a diverse creative background. My work has been recognized by Disney, and I’m currently immersed in an exciting personal project: writing, illustrating, and designing the branding for my comic book. With expertise spanning animation, motion graphics, print media, and web design, I bring a versatile skill set to every project I undertake.
SOLARPUNX is a project I’ve been conceptualizing for a few years, and I’ve now reached a point where I’m ready to bring it to life. This is deeply personal to me, as I’ve witnessed peers become influenced by right-wing ideologies and fall into the fascist pipeline. SOLARPUNX is my response to this—a creative endeavor designed to confront and challenge fascism within Gen Z through storytelling. I believe in the power of fiction to shape perspectives which is why I’ve crafted a narrative that resonates with my generation’s interests, such as manga and comics.
