Dismissed
Dismissed raises awareness about medical malpractice against women. The goal is not just educating and spreading awareness, but also empowering women to take initiative in their health.
Artist/Thesis Statement
Picture this: You are experiencing very abnormal health issues. After expressing these concerns with a licensed medical doctor who is reputable, they reaffirm not to worry but you know deep down, there is something wrong. You decide to listen to your gut and seek urgent medical attention. After a series of tests, you are validated by doctors that your gut was right. However, you realize the situation could have been prevented if the first doctor had listened.
This happened to me a few years ago and it was an isolating experience, especially when I didn’t know anyone my own age who's had this experience. It left me filled with resentment, anxious, and uneasy. After researching medical malpractice and negligence and speaking to other women, I realized this issue is larger than myself. Yet there’s barely any discussion about it.
Dismissed goes against this problem by creating a supportive community, who uplifts and empowers victims of medical malpractice/ negligence, and the “Find A Doctor” feature, which helps women find the right physician for them. We see you. We hear you.
