GRWTH
GRWTH is a financial literacy app that teaches users more about their finances through short, educational lessons. Feeling confident with your finances is the first step to success, so the idea of this product is to teach the user a variety of different topics such as loans, investing, budgeting, and more.

Throughout our college education, we are taught different skills based on our majors, but one thing most of us miss out on is an education on financial literacy. My experiences have shown me that many people in my age group do not understand financial literacy, myself included. Student loans stick with you for a long time, and it can be confusing and daunting trying to understand how to pay them back, while also figuring out other finances. It’s stressful enough trying to find a stable job right after graduation, we should not have to stress about our finances as well. In order for us to truly be successful post-school, we need to understand some of these concepts and how they will impact our lives.
That is why I decided to create this app- to help others and myself better prepare for our future. My interactive media project, GRWTH, is designed with thorough research and meticulous craftsmanship to create an enjoyable, memorable, and educational experience for the user. The idea of this product is to teach the user a variety of different topics related to finances such as loans, investing, budgeting, and more. If you understand more about how money works, then hopefully it will make your future finances less stressful. My goal is to change the users’ life for the better, making them feel more confident and hopeful for their future. A common theme in my work is the idea of the future and what awaits us. This app looks into the users’ near future in an attempt to set them up for success by educating them on financial literacy.
GRWTH was created with those goals in mind, using Figma, Axure, Adobe XD, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe After Effects to create wireframes, characters, and a fully functional prototype. Through this app, I give people the resources they need to feel more confident with their finances. I have incorporated many parts of my acquired skills from my BFA into this project, such as web design, character design, motion graphics, interactive media, and animation.
